GEORGIA'S LEGACY; OLDER WOMEN!

The 5th Annual Georgia's Legacy; Older Women! event for Women's History Month was Wednesday, March 19th at Mary Mac's Tea Room in Atlanta. Ten outstanding Georgia women joined forty seven others honored since the first observance in 2004. They are recognized as representative of women past the usual age of retirement who are still engaged productively, either in business or employment, or as volunteers. Each honoree was presented by the person who nominated her, then responded to receiving the award by sharing her philosophy and life experience. The luncheon was sponsored by Georgia Commission on Women, Georgia Women's Institute and Georgia Osteoporosis  Initiative. A book is being written, compiled by Commission on Women, funded by grants from Emily Grigsby, Attorney General Thurbert Baker and Procter & Gamble.
